THE PERSON

We’re looking for a Training Specialist who can thrive in a creative and entrepreneurial environment. This role develops new training materials and programs — including new hire training, management training, new store openings, and ongoing team member development — and assists in the coordination and deployment of store training programs. The Training Specialist will help us build an engaging environment of continuous growth and development, bringing innovative thinking, creativity, and energy. Responsibilities

Our Training Specialist will report to our home office in Columbus, Ohio and will be responsible for developing training content for the organization. This position reports to the Manager of Training & Development. The job responsibilities include:

  • Create and implement a wide range of training materials, including guides, handbooks, presentations, e-learning resources, and multimedia visuals.
  • Collaborate with internal team members across stores and departments to create and assemble appropriate content and delivery for brand-specific training.
  • Support the research and documentation of policies, training, strategic planning and other developmental initiatives.
  • Support location managers to implement training programs and hold them accountable for requirements and deadlines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to determine future revisions, improvements, and training needs.
  • Support the management of our learning management system that includes course scheduling, enrollment, attendance tracking, reporting, content management and leadership development.
  • Assist with the design and execution of training programs for new store openings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, in education, training, human resources, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience as an Instructional Designer, Training Content Writer, Training Coordinator, or similar role.
  • Experience with various methods of training, including written materials, digital learning resources, in-person training, on-the-job coaching, and mentorship programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments across many locations.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite software.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques, including instructional design theory and implementation.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to support in-person training initiatives and new store openings.

Desired

  • Knowledgeable about learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
  • Experience producing mixed media content, such as e-learning modules (especially Articulate 360), graphics, video and audio.
  • Experience in the hospitality or service industries.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
