The Summer Creative Assistant supports the Office of Student Life in the development, design, and implementation of creative assets for Residence Life, Commuter Life, Online Life, and Graduate Life. The position supports a variety of project and program needs from the design of graphics and development of videos, to event support capturing photos and videos. Additionally, Summer Creative Assistants manage a social media channel for Student Life.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in developing and executing summer social media strategy for the Office of Student Life by;
- Creating weekly social media schedules for each team's channels
- Scheduling and managing content posting
- Writing clear, strategic, creative copy for posts and promotions
- Managing primary daily brand interactions (comments, direct messages, tags, relevant hashtags, etc.) on platforms
- Design graphics based on branding guidelines, as necessary.
- Design projects might include social media content, print materials, internal communications, and event promotional content.
- Provide coverage of events by capturing and editing photographs.
- This position will also help provide B-Roll photography support for design initiatives.
- This is less common during the summer, but may occur.
- Attend required departmental events and meetings, which encourage collaboration, problem solving, and community health in the workplace.
- Provide input in developing project components and strategies.
- Provide administrative support, on an as needed basis.
- Organize and maintain all digital files in Dropbox.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Minimum Qualifications - Must be a Liberty University student
- Experience in content creation (graphic design, photography, videography, copywriting, etc.)
- Ability to operate a DSLR camera and accessories
- Ability to use Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications - Be a Liberty University student in a creative/communications field.

- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 20 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is in an office setting.However, work frequently occurs in a variety of other settings; including, but not limited to, residence halls, warehouses, and outdoor activities.
Driving Requirements Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
