The South Dakota State University (SDSU) student health clinic is currently seeking a dedicated and people-centered nurse with a passion for helping students to join our team as a Student Health Nurse!
Job Responsibilities: A Student Health Nurse provides skilled, student-centered nursing care in an ambulatory care clinic setting. This position promotes health and well-being through health counseling and education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of:
- Professional nursing theory and practices
- Clinical procedures
- Electronic health record software
- Prior nurse experience preferred
Skill & Ability to:
- Perform clinical procedures such as starting IVs and administering injections
- Provide telephone and in-clinic health triage
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Provide patient education and counseling
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Interact with a variety of patients including diverse populations
- Work as a dependable team member
- Work closely with local health agencies for collaboration and referrals
- Manage multiple projects and priorities
Required License: Registered Nurse License in the State of South Dakota
