Job Description

On the School-Based Team, the intern will have the opportunity to observe and learn from a Licensed Professional Counselor at AllHealth Network, focusing on supporting students at a local school. The name/location of the school will be disclosed upon interview.

Under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor, the school-based intern will gain firsthand experience on how assessments, treatment goals, and treatment plans are determined. The intern will maintain a caseload of up to 5 individual clients at their designated school. The intern will complete intake assessments, diagnose, and craft treatment plans for clients. The intern will also be responsible for individual sessions and documenting encounters accurately and thoroughly. Additional tasks may include: family sessions, case management, attending meetings at the school (IEP, re-entry, 504, etc.), and attending school-based weekly team meetings. As with all internships, the intern will receive direct supervision from and be in daily contact with their internship supervisor co-located on site.

  • Interns must be affiliated with a school during their placement with AllHealth Network. The school or its representative and AllHealth Network must have an established Affiliation Agreement, in writing, in place regarding the terms of an intern's placement prior to the start of an internship.
  • Interns must be enrolled in a CACREP-accredited program, receiving academic credit for their internship.
  • AllHealth Network employees are not eligible for internships while employed by the organization.
  • All internships are unpaid.
  • AllHealth Network does not employ or provide internships to current or former clients or those who have family members in treatment to avoid confidentiality concerns or conflicts of interest.
  • Interns may not practice in any language other than English unless they have passed the Human Resources approved proficiency examination.
  • Those offered internship positions are required to complete the background check process and other onboarding requirements, as outlined by Human Resources.
  • Interns are expected to attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) as well as other required new hire and internship trainings and to complete all mandatory agency wide staff training requirements. Interns are also expected to give constructive feedback that evaluates their training and supervision experience and to be engaged in the learning process.
  • Interns are expected to participate in the development of a performance improvement plan if one is needed.
  • Interns are expected to keep track of their hours as they accrue, per the requirements of their academic program.
  • AllHealth interns are encouraged to participate in all intern group meetings, trainings (both online and live), and presentations.
  • Video and audio taping of sessions is not permitted. Those with video/audio taping requirements should apply elsewhere.

Title and Hours required:

  • Monday-Friday work week availability to be on-site (specific hours and days may be flexible).
  • A minimum of 16-20 hours per week along with a 9-12 month commitment. The placement typically follows the academic year and begins in the Fall 2024 semester.

  • The ability to complete remote work is very limited during school year.

Minimum Qualifications and # of openings:

  • 2nd Year Masters in Counseling or Clinical Mental Health (Internship Year)
  • The candidate should be confident, comfortable in school settings, comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback, preferably a strong diagnostician, flexible, and independent to some degree.
