Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to lead and support all safety-related initiatives at our plant location. This individual will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture , ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety policies, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a safety leader and advocate across the plant site.

• Oversee and implement all plant safety activities , ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and MWP policies.

• Conduct regular plant safety walkthroughs , site audits, and inspections, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.

• Perform job site hazard analyses to evaluate risks and recommend safe work practices.

• Lead or assist in incident investigations , including near-misses and property damage, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.

• Support injury management processes and assist in managing workers’ compensation cases.

• Deliver site-specific safety training programs (e.g., Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Confined Space Entry).

• Facilitate pre-task planning for high-risk activities.

• Maintain safety documentation , inspection reports, and training records.

• Collaborate closely with plant leadership to promote a safety-first culture and ensure alignment with company safety objectives.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviors .

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Flexible availability, including occasional weekend work and travel to other locations.

• Self-starter who works well independently and within a team.

• Proven leadership and coaching abilities to support safety goals.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, First Aid, CPR , or other safety credentials are a plus.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior experience in an occupational health and safety role.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily an indoor role with occasional outdoor work required for inspections.

• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, twist , and lift up to 30 lbs as needed to perform site inspections.
