Job Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Elizabeth, NJ 07202

Pay Rate: $42 - $43 per hour

Schedule: 8:05 AM - 3:05 PM

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality health services in a school setting. The ideal candidate will ensure the well-being of students by conducting medical examinations, maintaining health records, and responding to medical emergencies.

• Maintain an efficient and functional health services office.
• Conduct medical examinations and refer cases of illness or injury for further evaluation.
• Assist medical inspectors with student health screenings and special examinations.
• Maintain and update cumulative student health records as required by law.
• Assess students returning from illness or injury and recommend exclusions when necessary.
• Perform annual vision screenings, audiometric exams, scoliosis screenings, and tuberculosis screenings as mandated.
• Respond to medical emergencies and report school-related accidents.
• Monitor and report any unusual patterns of respiratory or communicable diseases.
• Provide appropriate responses to DNR orders and other medical directives.
• Conduct health education classes and assist teachers with health-related instruction.
• Serve as a member of the child study team and participate in school health inspections.
• Consult with parents and guardians regarding student health concerns.
• Maintain liaison with community health agencies providing services to students and staff.
• Prepare detailed monthly reports for the Supervisor of Nursing Services.

• Required:
  • Active RN License (New Jersey)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Card
• Preferred: Additional relevant certifications related to school health or pediatric care .
