Boston Bolts Overview

The Boston Bolts possess more than 38 years of experience in bringing the world's game to communities across Massachusetts. In addition to overseeing youth teams across a full developmental pathway, the Boston Bolts participate in the USL, the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organization in North America, with a team in the USL League Two.

The Boston Bolts are a growing organization that looks for team members to grow with it. The internship is hands-on, allowing successful candidates the opportunity to learn in a professional environment and experience a dynamic organization first-hand. The Bolts are searching for a hardworking, self-starter who is motivated to make contributions to the organization's continuous growth and seeks a career in sports management.

Position Description

The Creative Services Intern will support bringing the Boston Bolts brand narrative and club stories to life through visual mediums. This individual will work on all aspects of the Bolts video production & marketing team and will have the opportunity to produce content throughout all Bolts programming. We are looking for a young and versatile visual storyteller, with an emphasis on editing, finishing and delivering a wide variety of content.

Position Timeline

This position will run from September 4th to December 11th

Primary Responsibilities
  • Edit and deliver videos for various Bolts platforms, including internal programs such as USL2, Partnerships, Summer Camps, Goalkeeping, and Elite Sports Performance.
  • Catalog footage to help build the Bolts' archival storage library
  • Assist in gathering video & photos at Bolts events
  • Fulfill graphic requests for directors, partners and media
  • Participate in live game coverage on-site at the UMass - Mount Ida campus
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite to develop social content
  • Conceptualize and edit short-form video content, with an emphasis on social media

Qualifications
  • Impetus to push forward the Boston Bolts style and voice while staying within the boundaries of its brand guidelines and workflows
  • Strong video editing skills with an advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere
  • Experience in other Adobe applications, notably After Effects & Photoshop
  • Quick learner who can function in the fast-paced environment mandated by the sports industry
  • Able and willing to travel up to 10%
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Application & Compensation

The candidate must be enrolled in college or university at the time of the internship. Because internships at the Bolts are educational experiences, they are unpaid. However, the Bolts will provide a stipend to assist with your expenses while participating in the internship program. You must secure your own housing and transportation and be present in-office throughout the week.
