Job Description

The Chief Responsible AI Officer will play a pivotal role in the CTO department, leading the charge in ensuring that all AI systems developed and deployed by the company are ethical, transparent, and accountable. This leader will be instrumental in developing a business and use-case specific responsible AI (RAI) framework, ensuring it can be tailored to meet the unique needs of various use-cases and clients. Additionally, the Chief Responsible AI Officer will act as a central point of coordination for both internal and external RAI initiatives and represent the company's perspectives in global RAI forums.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Development of Responsible AI Frameworks:

- Design and implement comprehensive RAI frameworks tailored to various business and use-case scenarios.

- Ensure that these frameworks are flexible and customizable to meet targeted vertical areas as well as the diverse needs of different clients.

2. Coordination of Internal and External RAI Efforts:

- Act as a central hub for all RAI activities within the company, ensuring alignment and consistency across departments.

3. Client Engagement and Advocacy:

- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and help build robust RAI cases for AI systems being developed.

- Provide expert guidance and support to clients on implementing RAI practices.

4. Thought Leadership and Representation:

- Represent the company's views on RAI at global forums such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

- Publish thought leadership articles, whitepapers, and case studies to promote the company's RAI initiatives and achievements.

- Influence RAI certification with third parties such as IEEE

5. Training and Development:

- Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and clients on RAI principles and best practices.

- Frequency and impact of participation in global RAI forums (e.g., speaking engagements, panel discussions).

- Influencing at least one RAI certification with a third-party such as IEEE

5. Training and Awareness:

- Number of internal training sessions conducted, and participants trained on RAI principles and frameworks and certified on RAI.

6. Industry Collaboration:

- Contribute to the development of responsible AI standards through involvement with industry initiatives like the Global Partnership on AI, OECD, WEF, IEEE, NIST, ISO

Salary and Other Compensation :

The annual salary for this position is between $650,000-675,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
