We’re recruiting for a Business Consultant position with a premier financial service organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are a team of information risk professionals who are working on improving our data. Must have prior Business Consulting experience along with being a clear communicator, detail oriented and strong data entry skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview-this role shall help determine:
- what data is leaving and entering our network (Inventory)
- who is accountable for this data (Stewardship)
- what type of data (Metadata - Classifications)
- how much data is being sent (Metadata - Quantity)
- why we are sending / receiving this data and for what purpose (Metadata – Business Purpose)
- where the data is coming from (Data Lineage)
- if we are sending the minimum amount of data required (Data Minimization)
- how long the data is being retained (Retention)
Throughout this effort it is expected to develop and maintain relationships with the key business partners. Therefore, proven ability to effectively work with internal and external partners is required.
Required Skillsets 1) Strong Business Consulting: The consultant should possess strong coordination, information gathering and data management skillsets. They should be skilled in documenting responses accurately and ensuring they are stored in the appropriate location. detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in business and data documentation.
2) Detail Oriented: The consultant should demonstrate strong attention to detail. This is essential when scheduling meetings, coordinating data classification questionnaires, and documenting responses accurately. Meeting invitations need to be sent to the correct participants, with clear agendas and all necessary documents attached. This will be critical throughout the entire process to ensure accurate business documentation, precise execution of data-related tasks, and successful entry of data to the appropriate systems.
3) Clear Communicator: The consultant should have strong collaboration skills to coordinate with various stakeholders, including business teams, data owners, and potentially vendors. Effective communication is crucial to set and manage expectations with stakeholders, gather desired content, and clarify information that is missing or inaccurate.
4) Data Analyst: The consultant should have experience in analyzing data, understanding data lineage, and working with Enterprise Data Catalogs. They should be able to interpret data sets, propose data & process improvements, and help address data questions from stakeholder.
5) Problem Solver: The consultant should have experience with process design, analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing innovative solutions to improve productivity and efficiency. Analytical skills will be required with assessing data, analyzing metrics, and providing feedback to optimize processes.
Desired skillsets 1) Project management: Experience with managing projects related to data and process improvement initiatives desired. These skills will help in planning, organizing, and executing the design and implementation of the project, managing timelines, and coordinating resources.
2) Data management knowledge: Understanding data structures, databases, data flows, and data integration techniques is desired. Knowledge of data management principles and best practices helps in ensuring accurate, reliable, and accessible data within processes.
3) Data governance expertise: Data governance experience will assist with creating and implementing procedures to ensure data quality, security, and integrity. Skill in data governance will help design processes that comply with data governance principles and requirements, including data classification, data lifecycle management, and data linage considerations.
Specific Tools: Prior experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Collibra, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Viso\Lucid Charts and Confluence are desired.
Education: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business, Operations or related field preferred OR a significant amount of directly related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position. Broad understanding of various delivery methods (agile, waterfall, devops, etc.) preferred.

Pay Details: $40.00 per hour
