Assistant Coach/Director of Hockey Operations College of the Holy Cross
Description Assistant Coach (with focus on the goaltender position)/Director of Operations for the Women's Ice Hockey program under the general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a coaching position which will also coordinate many operational aspects of the Women's Ice Hockey program - Including but not limited to: live in-game coding of our video and will be in charge of NCAA and league video exchange; compile team related stats; plan, coordinate, and execute year-long travel plans; handle the arrangement of team practice scheduling; co-director of clinics; assist with the planning of team community service activities. Assistant coach will work directly with our goaltenders in all aspects of their growth and development. Assistant coach will help build the future of the women's ice hockey program through their recruiting efforts. Assistant coach must perform duties in compliance with all College, Hockey East, and NCAA rules and regulations. Major Areas of Responsibility
- Produces all travel itineraries for away games.
- Scheduling and confirming home and travel practice requests, coordinating travel and travel budget, and all team meals
- Production of practice and game film for the goaltenders
- Provide individual and team instruction to student-athletes
- Assist with all aspects of recruiting
- Manage all aspects of film: In-game video coding, team film exchange, upload of individual clips for student-athletes review
- Designated assignments/game duties for practice and away games
- Manage employee schedule for team managers ensuring appropriate coverage.
- Assist with logistical aspects within the function of the program
- Assists with marketing, promotional activities and fundraising
- Assists/manages and plans team events and functions.
- Co-director of clinics
- Build effective partnerships with co-workers through freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed.
- Ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information.
- Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.
- Attends and supports all games
- Performance of all other duties and special projects as assigned by the Head Coach
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus one to two years of related experience required.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to background checks.
