Cadogan Tate Chicago Limited has an exciting position available for the Art Handler. We are looking for between 2 to 4 employees.

The essential duties of this role are to work on and off-site delivering / collecting, handling, installing and packing art works. 

This a part-time position for the Expo 2025 that starts in April 22nd. The extension of this position will be reassessed by the end of this event, but nothing is guaranteed.
The candidate must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities for an Art Handler are the followings: 

• Collections and deliveries on a daily basis, locally and interstate as needed
• Handle and control all paperwork when on site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for goods
• Ensure vehicle used is always safe, clean and prepared for the day or trip as required, verify what goods are needed at the start of every day or trip based on the daily trip sheet or trip manifest
• Ensure all modifications to daily trip manifest are reported and verified by the Dispatch Manager prior to making any modifications
• Proper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furniture
• Assist with installation projects
• Preparation of condition checks and condition reports as needed
• Pack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storage
• Training lower grade art handlers when required
• Assist in the loading and unloading of Cadogan Tate trucks
• Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job
• On occasion you may be required to start your day or end your day at a location other than Cadogan Tate Chicago Limited, in these instances you are required to complete a manual time sheet and to have this signed by the supervisor or your manager within 24 hours of the start or end of the day.

• Some experience in Art Transportation, Art Logistics, Warehousing, Moving (e.g. Art Installer and Fine Art Preparator are applicable for this position) 
• A knowledge of packing and proper handling of art works using the appropriate materials and methods for packaging, loading and securing for safe transport
• Installation experience of a wide range of art works in different environments
• Familiarity with paperwork; Bills of Lading, Condition Reports, Inventory, Drivers Logs, etc.
• Experience driving a Box Truck is a plus 
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Understanding of inventory processes and the ability to learn how to improve on handling art and antiquities from collection through to installation 
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations

· Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting

· Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary logistics equipment

· Ability to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart

· Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead

Part time employees will accrue PTO on a prorated basis, based on the number of hours worked each week.
