Description The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill two (2) regular, full-time positions in the class of Accountant I/II at the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). The education, experience and other qualifications of the selected candidate will determine the level at which the position will be offered. The salary range for each classification level is as follows:
Accountant I: $67,433.60 - $81,972.80 Annually
Accountant II: $75,150.40 - $91,374.40 Annually
Not e: In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that will be utilized to fill countywide vacancies as they occur.
HHSA Accountant Positions HHSA's Fiscal Accounting teams are responsible for cost accounting duties for the Agency's Behavioral Health, Public Health, and Social Services programs. Incumbents may complete monthly ledger reconciliations and corrections, submit monthly or quarterly claims and reports, complete cost allocations, enter data in the County's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and assist with the Agency's budget. They also serve as subject matter experts for their assigned programs and may represent the HHSA Fiscal team in meetings with County or external staff.
The
ideal candidate will have:
- Professional level accounting experience,
- Proficiency in using Excel to analyze large amounts of complex data,
- Ability to research, interpret and apply regulations, policies, and business processes.

Employment Standards Accountant I Education : A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field including completion of 120 semester units with a minimum of 12 semester units in accounting.
Accountant II Education: A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a closely related field including completion of 120 semester units with a minimum of 12 semester units in accounting;
AND Experience : Two (2) years of professional level accounting and/or auditing experience comparable to the Yolo County classes of Accountant I or Auditor I.
Other Requirements: License:Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Verification of Education Acceptable forms of educational documentation are official/unofficial transcripts or copy of diploma that list the student's name, institution name, field of study and date the degree was awarded. For recent graduates who have not received proof of their degree, a letter from the registrar's office stating that all requirements for graduation have been met and listing the field of study will be sufficient proof of graduation.

Applicants who possess a degree or completed coursework that is not from an accredited college or university, must submit one of the following: - A written statement from a U.S accredited university or college that states that the applicant is qualified for entrance to a program of graduate studies for which a degree in a related field is required.
- An evaluation of the applicant's degree and coursework equivalency by a private organization that provides foreign credential evaluation services. The evaluation must include a comparison of comparable U.S. courses for content, credit and grade.
Note : Foreign language documents must include a precise word-for-word English translation of all foreign language documents. It is the responsibility of each applicant to prove to the satisfaction of the County that the applicant meets the specific requirements listed on the job announcement for each specific examination.
